Description
This coupler acts as the adapter between the dental unit's tubing and the high-speed handpiece. It screws onto the 5-hole fiber optic hose. The "Quick Disconnect" feature allows the dentist to snap a handpiece on or off instantly for sterilization or switching between instruments.
The "Fiber Optic" designation means it has electrical contacts to power a light source (halogen or LED) located within the coupler, which then shines through the glass rod of the attached handpiece to illuminate the oral cavity. The swivel mechanism allows the handpiece to rotate freely 360 degrees, reducing wrist strain caused by tubing drag.
